hey i just got approved for my ssi and they said that im only getting $23.00 month and my husband get unemployment checks he gets $250 a week is that right

sweatkisses, Are you sure you are getting SSI, which is disability money for people who have not worked and don't have work credits for regular disability? I don't think you are getting SSI. Right now, SSI is approximately $600.00 per month for people who are approved for it. Where did you apply for whatever it is that you are getting?

SSD is disability. SSI is based soley on income. So, depending on how much your entire family brings in, that will determine how much SSI you get. SSI is not based on just your income but includes your husbands as well.

Hello, I realize this response is 3 months late in the coming, but if SS figured your rate at $23, it is based on the income of your husband. If your husband lets say, only received $100 per week from Unemployment, your monthly total would go up substantially. I quite sure you have already found this out. Some folks have no idea what their talking about. Goodwilled, but misinformed.
