The money if any will be in the state treasury's office waiting for you to claim it in the state where the bank used to be

I read one of the answers  and agree 100% the money is beiging helh by the state treasury inwhich the bank was located

You should check in the state that you live in at the state controller office for unclaimed funs. Sometimes the names are printed in the locals new paper.

Mgirl, it's suppose to be there. Just check which bank bought the account. Now, some banks will charge so many fees that the money may be all gone. If it was me, I'll try to find it. Don't let them keep your money, they are rich enough. Just hope that the last bank who got it still open. Good Luck.
