What's a good way to deal with disparity in assets ...

what's a good way to deal with disparity in assets when planning marriage? i own my house, and my fiance will be moving in - he owns no property. what would be fair to both AND preserve my ownership in the event of a divorce? his contribution towards the mortgage would help build MY equity, not his, which isn't really fair. it also wouldn't be fair that he gets a cut of a house he didn't pay anything into up till now. and the idea of him "paying me rent" doesn't help the idea of "building our home together". help!

suze orman would say, you both need to sit down and talk money. Dont awkward, it away. Pre nups for men and woman. In some ways, you know what you have to

loose.

A prenuptual is fine.  To state ongoing current equity from the house is splittable, but the house itself is not is a pretty reasonable part.  And calling it "rent" isn't rent, not in the eyes of the law.
