Discuss callkm's answer to: What is moderate epithelial dysplasia?

Epithelial dyplasia refers to microscopic alterations of epithelial cells and tissue from normal toward the appearance of cells and tissue usually seen in cancers arising from that epithelium.  The term cellular atypia is sometimes used for the same purpose.  These abnormal cells can be found in precancers as well as cancers, and some of the alterations may be seen in benign and innocuous epithelium, such as regenerating epithelium on the edge of an ulcer or wound.
