I think my kid is a little slow. I've always thought it was just a teenage thing but he's 22 now and I'm not sure. He can't pass, or understand, ANY part of the TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education ...
Why would you pay a psychologist any money?
Do you really want to allow yourself to be conned into putting your son on pills?
The psychologist will only judge your child and expect you to listen to what decisions he has made for your child after you've given him his money.
He views your son as another customer, the next number in a long line of numbers. You say this is not true? Then ask that psychologist to be sensitive enough of others and offer his help to your son for free. He will hang up on you.
At least do yourself the service of asking what your child wants.
Are you really equating sensitivity with being paid for services? By your definition basically no one that comes in contact with our children or us on a daily basis has or shows any sensitivity because they expect to be paid for their jobs. This includes: teachers, doctors, tutors, dentists, baby sitters, etc. By your definition, if these people ask to be paid that are not sensitive enough of others because they are not offering their help for free. Is this really what you mean?
If they couldn't do it for free....then what conclusion can you make?
They are doing it solely for money!
I would conclude that, like most of us, they have bills to pay and that's how they make a living. I don't think you can judge someone's desire to be helpful or their sensitivity toward others by their need to earn money. Again, by your definition everyone does their jobs "solely for money" without any thought or sensitivity for those that they are working with. Personally I find that a really sad commentary on life.
