Discuss PGroot's answer to: Microsoft spla

What is the difference between microsoft and windows?

Windows is an operating system.  Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 are different generations of Windows.  Microsoft is the company that makes Windows, and also Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), and Internet Explorer, just to name a few of their products.

Almost every computer (except Apple) uses Windows.  A few use Linux operating systems.  Smart phones often use Android.
