The FDA approval date is 30 September 1997 and it is jointly marketed by sanofi-aventis and Bristol-Myers Squibb -- it's already available via the Internet. Call the pharmacy where you usually fill the Rx and they will have the exact date. Should be within the next year +.  Cozzar is in the same family and it isn't available as a generic. Call this answer: just retired doc and call your pharmacy ~

Whenever their patent runs out. Right now there are no generic equivalents available in the USA for any drug in this class (Angiotensin Receptor Blocker ARB).
