Unfortunatly this question leaves a lot of unknowns, due to the present cost, the OBAMA situation and healthcare in general. You do have a PRE-EXISTING condition. This can and most likely is a stunbling block, not in your favor, I am sorry to say. There are other questions I would have. Are you disabled? If employed, does your employer offer no health care plan? Is your wife employed, where you could be added as a Dependent? If your income is such, do you qualify for the State of CA Medicaid Program. Even SHARE COST, through some states is helpful.

I cannot comment any further, until I would have more details.

Please post them if you wish to discus this futher.

Under the limited information, I would say the expense would be quite high.
