What does this mean? He tells my friends that he doesn't like anybody but if he did, it would be me...!?

So I like this guy (8th grade) and he is giving me all the mixed signals in the world... telling me i an nice and pretty and that he j/o's to me and then goes on to say that we're close friends and thats all. All my friends think he's a big flirt and likes me a lot, but I am still so confused.. am I friend-zoned or not? Also, when he told that to my friends (that he doesnt want a relationship but I would be his first choice) tasked him why he didnt tell me that (because he didnt tell me that, my friends did) he replied: because i do not want a relationship. CONFUSING AS **** PLEASE HELP THANKS!

At the 8th grade he is not matured enough and at the same time he is not entirely sure about himself and what he wants.  He might have low self esteem / confidence too.  Better be petient wait and hope for good.   You have very good chances that he'll (aoon) do exactly what you expect him to do.

I think I would take the hint and leave him alone for now. Hes obviously too immature at the moment to talk to you honestly and has to tell your friends things rather than you....

He could be too embarrassed to tell you he actually does fancy you, but may be afraid of a relationshp?

Or it might be that he likes you as a friend, but thats all and doesnt want to hurt your feelings . Stay cool, dont hound him, and if its meant to be, he'll find you. dont get your friends to send silly messeges either, its immature and as bad as he is. In time youll look back sst this situation and laugh. good luck. xx
