RE: Maurice Barbanell the Physic: I recently found out that I am a cousin on my grandmother's side and would like to find out the first names of Maurice Barbanell's parents. I only know his mother's ...
Dear Barbara,
I have put many names into many searches, but that didn't interfere with my email. Go ahead and put your name, your cousin's name, your grandmother's name, any name at all that might bring up results. If you are related to Maurice on your side of the family, not your husband's, then use your maiden name. These sites may or may not know of your marriage.
I am not a genealogist by any means, but there are some out there that could perhaps give you some help for a price (sometimes minimal).
Also, gather any and all information you can on your family. Ages, birth and death dates, did any come to US via Ellis Island? I found my husband's great-grandfather listed in the Ellis Island records. In his own handwriting.
You might also check your public library for books on genealogy. I'm sure they can give you much more info than I can as far as a strategy to find your information.
Again, best of luck to you.
