What is the new law regarding the sales of new mattresses?  It was just mentioned to us after the fact of purchasing a new King mattress and box spring.  We were told once it has been delivered to check for the manufacturing date, because it was illegal to sell any beds manufactured before July 2007.  The reason was because of a new flame resistance law.  Any one with facts on this information, please reply asap, before bed is delivered.

"The Consumer Product Safety Commission's new national mandatory standard for mattresses, which goes into effect July 1, 2007, addresses mattress fires ignited by open flame sources.  ... Mattresses currently sold to California consumers and those manufactured, imported, or renovated nationally after July 1, 2007 must be labeled as meeting the open-flame standard. ...  It's important to note that mattresses produced before July 1, 2007 may still be sold after that date and need not meet the new guidelines."
