Do all matchmakers charge a small fortune?

I'm so sick of dating sites. I've been on and off Match.com for years. Some are lucky to find what they're looking for, I unfortunately have not. I would love to try a matchmaker. So expensive. Is there one that is reasonable in the Northern NJ area? Desperate to find love...but won't settle.
