Best I can determine it is an Indian bank, can't find the name yet though.  Bottom line, if it is Indian you likely don't have any good insurance coverage for your deposit and even if they have some kind of insurance, it's India, not the USA. If you have to get an attorney involved to recover under the insurance, or otherwise, again, it's India....LONG ways away and likely very costly.  Lastly, the old addage "if it sounds too good to be true, it most likely ain't good"....and in this case, maybe they pay 8.2%, but the risks may be too high to be
"so good"
