That would certainly depend on how one was traveling.

Different airlines have different baggage charges.  They may be different for carry-on, or checked at the gate, or checked at the counter.  You may get one bag free if it fits under the seat and weighs less than 40 pounds.

Ships, buses, and trains usually do not charge.
