Lower credit card rates

you two take so much time out of your schedule to help so many people, i truly appreciate that. my questions how does one go about getting a credit card with a lower interest rate? my sons rate now is at 23% the company refuses to lower it. where can he find a real credible company to choose from with lower interst rate. how does he transfer his debt to the a lower interest card. is there a penalty?? is it free? will it hurt his credit? thanks

Now, listen, Mom...if your son has a job and has paid his credit card bills on time, there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON why his card should have that high rate on his credit card.

 

IF he likes the card, he should call them and demand a MUCH lower rate.  Threaten to close the account if a reasonable rate isn't forthcoming.

 

If not, head to www.cardtrak.com and the "Credit Smarts" section of Dolans.com for all the info your son will need to get a MUCH better card.

 

Also, transferring a balance to a new credit card usually costs nothing, with NO penalty.  As long as you don't transfer a balance too often, it won't hurt his credit rating.

 

Tell your son to GET TOUGH!

You can contact the creditor for this and them ask if the interest rates may be reduced temporarily or permanently to enable the debt to be paid off more easily. Else, You can choose The Low Interest Fixed APR Lifetime Balance Transfer Option. Modification should cost nothing to you at all if you work directly with the mortgage company you are with; not sure what method you are currently going to use,but a modification can be done for free I just did one on my home,all you have to do is call your mortgage holder and ask how do I get a modification if you do not ask they will not tell you,even if you are having trouble paying mortgage.
