Why Men Should Know About Menopause...

Even though it is only women who directly go through the physiological symptoms of menopause, it is important for men to understand this process to provide support to their partners, sisters, mothers.. and friends. The more men know about menopause, the better part of the positive support network for women they can provide...

Recognizing Symptoms
  • Men can help recognize the earliest symptoms of menopause, which include irregular periods and hot flashes, but also night sweats, pain during sex, changes in sexual desire, irritability and anxiety. Recognizing symptoms can help couples and families seek out appropriate treatments, if necessary, and promote understanding.
  • Many people, no matter what their symptoms, are hesitant to follow through on plans of medical treatment. Supportive friends, partners, and family members can help menopausal women take positive steps to promote their own health.
  • Many dietary recommendations for menopause are also healthy ideas for men, like making sure to get enough calcium and fiber, eating fruits and vegetables, drinking water
  •  and limiting fat and salt. You can support a menopause-healthy diet and watch out for your own health.
  • Third Age has compiled a list of 10 myths that men believe about menopause (see link in Resources). These myths make communicating between the sexes about menopause difficult, while understanding truths enlightens not only you, but allows you the opportunity to enlighten others.
  • The changes one's body goes through during menopause can be trying both physically and emotionally. Understanding the effects of menopause can make men more supportive and emotionally available for the women in their lives.
Encouraging Treatment Better Diet Combating Myths Empathy

Many women go through menopause and don't leave the men they love . Therefore I have to ask how was your relationship with your Wife before menopause ?  Is she questioning her love for you or your love for her ?  You have to find a way to convince your wife to see a Doctor , which doesn't mean she must take horomone replacement .  Hormone changes can cause all kind of changes in ones system physically and mentally .  Be supportive and make sure she knows you love her , keep the lines of communication open . See if you can't convince her to also seek some counseling with you to help you both . If she will not seek counseling with you , you still need to on your own . If things do not work out in your marriage which I Pray they will , counseling will help you cope .   Blessings to both of you and Best Wishes .

I agree with what Equus said. I think the two of you should try to find out what really is the problem, and these should be done with the help of a professional.

Your creative mind is your ticket to greatnesss.
