Lost AOL files and address book

How do I get my aol files back. AOL was open on my computer and when I signed back on, every bit of my personal information was missing. A window opened saying that there was a corrupt file and that I would have to download the AOL program over again. I chose to download the same version I already had so that none of my personal information was lost and that did not happen. Everything is missing. All saved emails and files and my address book. How can this be retrieved. I purposely began saving everything on AOL so that it would transfer when I got a new computer. Now everything appears to be gone.
