Losing your pension after you are fired

My company is threatening to fire a 20 tear vested employee and has advised her if she gets fired instead of quitting that she will forfeit her pension. Can they legally do this ?

Not in Calif. Depends on the way the pension is setup, If it's a 401 then NO, they can't touch that. Maybe if the Company pays the pension but I doubt they can just for being fired. There are so many different things that get involved with this but the State would be of interest.
