My nephews paternal grandmother currently has custody of him which his mother (my sister) allowed to happen when she was on drugs. She is now in rehab and sees her son a couple of times a year (when my side of the family has him, his grandmother won't let her see him). Can his grandmother file abandonment charges saying she hasn't tried to contact him? Can she lose the rights to her child if a case gets filed and she do not know about it since she is in rehab? Please Help!!
lies are a common factor in child custody cases. Yes you could lose your rights unless you could prove that you did not abandon him. Get an attorney and establish your parental rights NOW.
