chrysler 3.5 engine longevity, I have a 2001 3.5 with 340,ooo miles and it is running great only change oil and plugs and once timing chain, and one radiator, How long will it go? Is this a record ?
How long will it go? That is almost impossible to tell. If it's running good at 340,000 miles and you perform routine maintainance, you can probably go for another 340,000. The main thing is preventive maintainance and driving responsibly. As for a that being a record, I'd say no, it's not. I don't know of any place that keeps mileage records on individual engines. They keep records on high mileage, currently it's over 2 million miles, 34,000 shy of 3 million. 1966 Volvo P1800S. There are also a 1956 Ford and a 1956 Cadillac, both over 1 million miles. But 340,000 is nothing to sneeze at either, rarely do people today take care of their vehicles well enough to achieve that kind of mileage, you are to be congratulated.
