How Long do you wait before asking someone out?

I recently met a woman at an "after work" bar and had a very nice appetizer dinner with her. Things went well and she even gave me a hug goodbye when we parted. How long should I wait before asking her out?

If you have her phone number, I'd use it to call her soon and say something like "I really enjoyed your company, and I'd like to get together with you for (drinks and dinner?) and get acquainted. If you'd care to do this, what would be convenient for you?" That way, you've expressed your interest, but you don't sound (we hope) too pushy. Best of luck
