Lonely 40 yr old single mother with Bi-polar ...

Lonely 40 yr old single mother with Bi-polar disorder I just need someone to talk to right away. Not sleeping again. Lonely. Its not something I want to bring up to family or friends because I don't wan them to worry. I just started a new medication after quitting my clozaril several months ago, and I went into a manic state for some time. I lost a lot of weight and am feeling great, but now my mood is headed in the other direction, just like everyone told me it would. Bad thoughts again. Thoughts I haven't had in acouple of years. I feel so alone. But no-one knows. I just carry on with life like nothing is wrong and having nightmares that can leave me reeling for days.I need to talk. Thanks, Vicjthm

Bipolar disorder is not something that can be cured overnight or by prescription medications. It is a lifelong illness and it is part of who you are. Embrace it, share it family, seek consistent therapy even when you are not in the extremes of hi/low (groups can be a wonderful way of maintaining stability ), and certainly visit your psychiatrist who is monitoring your meds and let him/her know of your new symptoms. There is no shame in accepting your illness and letting others help. The shame comes in not seeking the right help and moving into the extremes that ultimately affect your life and everyone in it.
