I decided to check one of my application statuses by signing on using a PC overseas and then AOL locked my account, saying:
"We have detected unusual activity on this account and for your security we are temporarily blocking access. To regain access to this account, please change your password."
Unfortunately, they locked me out because I didn't know the Security Answer word for word. Also, though I am Canadian, I signed up using the US site unknowingly so I couldn't enter a good zip code. Now I am locked out. I know tons of information about my account, but just not the zip code or the security answer. I know my password, people who I have contacted recently, contacts, emails, name, etc. Just not the security answer word by word or zip code.
Is there ANY way I can get my account back? It says "temporarily", but does that mean that after a period of time the lock will disappear? Because back at home, I have my computer set to remember my login and sign me in automatically. Will that work?
Also, is there any way I can at least get one letter hint for the security answer?
I seriously need help on this. There is tons of important info that I will need in the following months. Please help.
