Are you looking for the one that the little boy is sittin on a stump. The little boy is dressed in a jacket, has a hat on and trousers on.  He was made in 1948 and stands 7 feet tall. If you are looking for this please contact me at mslady125@yahoo.com

Hello: I am interested in your topic. I have a very very old concrete black fishing boy statue. It was in my mom's yard for about 40 years and it was in my grandmothers yard many years before that. Interesting though is I see you are from Birmingham, Ala.  My statue is from Haleyville Ala where my grandmother lived. I see another lady was looking for one as well and she too was from Alabama. Do you have information about the history of these old statues or why do they seem to be very indigenous to Alabama? Any information you have would be very welcome. I have cherised the statue for many years. I live in NY

would also be interested in buy one if anyone has one... Thank You   From Texas

I have a "Sambo" concrete garden statue. I believe its a  "Rufkus' the black fishing boy"  If he stood up he would be over three feet tall. He's in a sitting position and has a  removable fishing pole in his hands. Has all his fingers and toes. Hes's wearing light blue knee-high bibs and a faded red shirt with a concrete brown removable hat. It's not the original fishing pole and the hat has a piece broken off it. Ican be contacted @ hafenkenn@yahoo.com  Thank you.
