What type of lily ? This bulb is the seed pod: leave it alone and toward the end of summer it will open (probably has 3 sections to a pod) and be filled with flat seeds that resemble small black cornflakes.

THAT WHICH DOESN'T KILL YOU MAKES YOU STRONGER. Bull. Reality is, it will usually hurt like hell and leave you with a permanent limp.

Don't know the lilly's name, just looks like an easter lilly except it's white with pink stripes..quite large.  Could I plant those seeds somewhere else or just let them drop on the ground. We have several of these and they keep coming up year after year with many blooms.  We have been cutting the bulb thing off...

Either: I don't know how viable the seeds are - I just leave mine to do whatever they want to and let them spread naturally.

Thanks, I guess I'll do the same next year....Wife already cut the stalks off this year...Ken
