installing ceiling lights

I have one of those long florescent ceiling lights in a closet.  I need to replace the bulb and as silly as this sounds, I can't figure out how to remove the old bulb.  Is there a trick to this?

The lamps usually only twist half wat and then come straight out. If you look closely at the end of the lamp you will see a bump in the metal prong end. these are to let you know when the lamp is seated properly. Likewise when removeing the lamp they should be turned until 90 degrees from there original position. Some lamps are also pushed from one end to the other but these are usually for lamps that are longer then 4 feet or are high output lamps. I doubt you have these in your closet. Good luck and if your really concerned cover your articles in the closet shut off the light switch and wear eye and hand protection just in case the lamp does break while removing it.

Good luck.

Thanks Chris.  I will have to wait till morning when it's daylight to even see what you refered to.  I may end up leaving it till my son visits, lol.  Meanwhile, I'm in the dark.

My search for my answer began here and I got one response which was a huge help.  Then I asked a few coworkers when I got to work and was able to solve my problem within the next day or so.

Thank you

I have some Track lighting that uses the mini GU10 floodlamps. They are housed in a base that has confined space. You cant push or turn on it. One has burnt out. Can You tell me how to remove them?

I'm all set but thank you.  I can see again, lol
