In the wrong hands, anything is dangerous.  Prison guards must constantly guard against prisoners getting anything that could be misused as a weapon.  A paperclip is a weapon in the hands of these hardened criminals. 

 

Should we treat disciplined scientists with the suspicion that we direct against the very dregs of society?  Certainly not!  Should we consider ordinary citizens unfit to own the means to defend their lives?  Again, certainly not!

 

I ask only that we consider fully the eventual outcome of our actions, knowing that there are NO absolutes in life.  Every action will have an unexpected outcome.  We must be responsible for what we create.
