The tradition started when a traveling salesman tacked a single dollar bill with his name on it to the wall of Fat Smitty's restaurant in Discovery Bay, Wash.

Twenty-seven years later, Carl "Fat Smitty" Schmidt and his nephew and new manager Casey Carson have taken down $10,316 in $1 bills from the walls and ceiling of the restaurant, Peninsula Daily News reports.

No, I left a neck tie on a restaurant wall, they get cut off if you come in with it on and you don't know about it, they just snip it off, then you realise why all the ties are on the wall.
