The tradition started when a traveling salesman tacked a single dollar bill with his name on it to the wall of Fat Smitty's restaurant in Discovery Bay, Wash.
Twenty-seven years later, Carl "Fat Smitty" Schmidt and his nephew and new manager Casey Carson have taken down $10,316 in $1 bills from the walls and ceiling of the restaurant, Peninsula Daily News reports.
