Is there a course in real estate? Is there a diploma you're supposed to have? What does the curriculum entail?

This depends on where you live.  All states require real estate agents to be licensed, but the requirements vary by state.  Search for real estate licensing board in your state and read on the various requirements and curriculum.

In the Philippines for instance, Asian Institute of Management offers a classroom-type course about real estate and property management.
