 I recommend a book called Useful Chinese Crash (Volume1) whicis the main teaching material for eChineseLearning . In this book, there are lots of conversations and new words for a beginners to learn. And also other books such as Contemporary Chinese and Standard Chinese all suit you. Moreover, if you want to read some reading materials, you can subscribe to the fashionable, interesting and useful Newsletter on eChineseLearning to make your Chinese study more effective.

Try http://www.childbook.com/. They got plenty of books, Chinese DVDs, and other materials that you will surely find helpful.

I highly recommend Childbook.com. They  provide quality books, CD's, and DVD's and other items that are fun and educational for helping children and adults learn more about the Chinese Language and Culture.

There are different Chinese books serving for different Chinese learners, so I suggest going to Amazon.com to check out the reviews on various Chinese textbooks. Common choices include “Integrated Chinese” and “New Practical Chinese Reader.” They are the most all-sided Chinese books for Chinese learners.
