Larry Page and Page Rank

A friend of mine told me that Google's "Page rank" got its name not because it ranks pages, but because this algorithm was developed by Larry Page. Is this a joke or a fact?

According to Wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PageRank) this is true.

Yup! Larry Page from Stanford University developed Page Rank.
