Will there be a pride drop for laptops to compete with tablets, or will the price drop only affect the notebook segment of the market?
My theory would be that while tablets might compel some, they are not the ultimate in portable power processing. With that said, laptops always continue to drop in price... the question is, what are your technological requirements? New technology is always more expensive and can always be expected to garner a premium price. If the technology in a laptop is "significant" it will demand a fair market price.
I currently have an iPad2. It does not replace my laptop. Some things I can do on it and it makes me use my laptop less, but can't replace it (for now).
Another factor is keyboard. Just like those who still swear by their BlackBerry because it has a keyboard, there are others who swear by the iPhone. My feeling is the Laptop vs Tablet argument may hold a similar divide in the population.
Hope this is helpful.
Although, the latest craze puts the tablets in the limelight. The prices of laptops may remain the same because for sure, there will be innovations to still make it the better choice.
most definitely, the price drops are expected and the best laptop would be available for an inexpensive price. :)
