For laptop battery life, do I let it drain all the way before recharging?

I have a Dell Latitude D620. I need to know if I should let my battery drain all the way before recharging it, or if I should keep it on AC power as much as possible. Also, any other tips on optimizing battery life? Thanks

No need

Today?s battery technology doesn’t require you to drain it up before recharging. If you are close to an AC outlet, keep it plugged, you won’t have any performance x energy consumption compromise, meaning your computer will work faster, if plugged.

It?s not a bad idea, though, let the battery drain up before recharging once in a while.

Hope that helps.
