Kitchen sink blues

Hi Eric,

My problem is the kitchen sink. When I plug up one side to do the dishes, the other side won't drain right. It drains slowly & it;s driving me crazy.

a very simple solution, when all water is out of sink pour clorox in drain let sat for about two hours boil water and pour in drain may take doing this a couple of times but it work and is a cheap way to unclogg drain

In a double bowl sink assembly one side will aid in giving intake air for the drain water to move faster. This goes for both sides. It sounds like you have a clog in the extension tube or trap just under the sink. As a plumbing remodeler I dont use chemicals, ever.  The problems are usually grease and hair and sometimes toys and rag/fabric parts.  I've also found jewelry chains and clogs of paper-towels. The piont being it's best to get to the real problem. Just diassemble the trap under the sink and clean out the parts and put them back together with 5 wraps of teflon tape for each threaded connection. Crank them in tight with just your hands and you should be fine.
