The black ants , usually are after the honey dew/aphids, either way you can use. You can also liquid seven. Spray the bottom of the leaves with liquid seven, and surrounding areas .You can find it at walmart. It is safe to use on plants. Will leave a slight film protecting plants as well. Will not hurt plants
