Why hasn't he moved onto new trucks?

Apparently he's smart enough to realize that his 76 Ford is probably still running great and why buy a new truck if the old one is working?  I have a 69 Chevy truck along with a 78 Ford and I prefer them over my 99 Ford F150.  Newer is not always better, not to mention I'm sure his 76 is paid for, cheap to insure and easy to repair.
