Answers

People who refer job candidates to employers are colloquially referred to as "headhunters." Actually, they're recruitment officers working for the corporate employer as part of their HR team. Alternatively, these recruiters may be working for a recruitment agency, which the employer has hired to weed out the undesirable and unqualified job applicants.

Many companies outsource their recruitment activities to third-party providers. During the initial stages of the selection process, these headhunters filter through mounds of resumes, reject the less qualified applicants, and initiate preliminary interviews with the chosen ones. These people also guide the applicants through a series of tests, which will determine who among the candidates possess the skills and knowledge required of the job. From this batch, only a few people shall be selected for the final interview with the company's top executives.
