Catholic doctrine states that any baptized person can baptize another under extreme circumstances such as imminent danger of death. Even an unbaptized person can perform baptism under these circumstances provided they intend to do what Christ intended.

This is the only sacrament, other than matrimony, that laity may perform. This is the Catholic doctrine, and I know not everyone agrees.

God Bless you.

Love one another.

Lido's answer gets 2 thumbs up from me. - Correct as far as I know

Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.

WE ARE HIS DISCIPLES AND THIS WAS THE GREAT COMMISSION THAT JESUS GAVE BEFORE HIS ASCENSION .

 Bible 1

Be Blessed

Be Blessed. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (Love), I am become as a sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vauneth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seekth not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is (Love) charity.

You will find all kinds of answere to your question, But the answere will always beYes!  under different circumstances from the normal  But my advice is for all bapitism to be done according to Acts 2:38. however if you are not under strange circumstances it would be better if you had someone who is a believer and has the baptisum of the Holy Ghost! this is not a catholic only thing as some would have you to believe, when I have baptised some they have come up speaking in different tongues. if you haven't been baptised and you do believe in Jesus the Christ then get it done while youn still can!

And He hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of His hand hath He hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in His quiver hath He hid me---Isaiah 49:2.

Since Baptism, like everything in the rituals of Christianity is a spiritual occurance, the answer is yes, and if there is no water, you can use saliva.

The medium you use does not matter and who performs it does not matter(as long as the belief in the spiritual aspect of baptism is intact in both the giver as well as the receiver).

A spiritual baptism should occur in us each morning when we arise to serve our God.  A symbolic baptism in a church with water and an ordained pastor happens usually only once and if someone wants to be baptised and is sincere, it can be done in an emergency situation.  The main thing is:  Sincerity of hearts.

Because what you are being baptised(washed in) is the Holy Spirit of God, which is Divine Love.
