There is no other way to know Jesus other than by faith. When we put our entire trust in him and his ability to save us from our sins (repent), then he gives us a new birth into the spiritual realm and it is there that we find and know Jesus. Within the kingdom of God we find all the miraculous work of God. It is beautiful and wonderful. Come!
You will find that faith is a consistent expansion of reason: we reason that God Is, we read of what He has done and why He did so, and we soon enough discern the true rationale.
God's rationale, is not the same as man's rationalization. For example, God is far wiser than we and we logically defer to His policy. Once we put His policy into action, we see the correct rationale and why it is so wise.
The legal profession requires us to be duly skeptical, however, we are never irrational about it. The law, and living, will teach you about God. God wants us to be free. Correct thinking and correct living assure that we remain free and are worthy of the freedom God gives us all.
Rocmike you are not a lawyer.
According to the Bible, you cannot be more wrong. To have real and sustainable faith, you first need to know personally Jesus Christ on the basis of his faith-producing and saving work in his unique death on the cross, a.k.a., baptism with the Holy Spirit. The alternative is self-deception!
I am amazed how many people say they know Jesus Christ and can not explain how they come to know our Lord Jesus Christ.
Man cannot devise a plan of his own. The Bible is very clear in stating that an individual is not at liberty to work out his own little scheme of redemption. Long before the advent of the Messiah, Jeremiah the prophet said, "O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps" (Jer. 10:23).
Although man is free to make his own choices, he cannot direct his course so as to save his soul without yielding to the will of God for the following reasons: (1) Man as the creature is dependent upon God the Creature is dependent upon God the Creator. (2) The sinner is powerless to atone for his own sins. (3) Without revelation from God man would never come to know God,
Jesus said "No one can come to Me, unless the Father who sent Me draw him: and I will raise him up on the last day.'' (John 6:44).
God draws people unto Himself through the teaching of the gospel. The preaching of the gospel is God's power, his drawing power, to save (I Corinthians 1:18-21). Therefore, all people, when they hear the gospel, at any moment, have the ability to respond to God's gospel call. They also have the ability to reject it (Acts 13:45-48). This call is given outwardly by the gospel [2Thes. 2:14] and inwardly by the Holy Spirit [Rev. 22:17].
God imparts faith to people through the hearing of His words. So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God,(Rom 10:17).
Faith is a gift from God; it is a part of God’s grace that is at work in your life. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God (Eph 2:8). True faith, true hope, and true love, all come from God and not from your self they are gifts from God.
How do we answer God's call? For whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved." (Acts 2:21). The people who heard this wanted to know how to do so (Acts 2:37) They were told "Repent "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved . Acts 16:31 and receive Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2:38).
Every true Christian who Knows Jesus Christ has heard God’s voice. It was God’s voice that called you to Him; it was His Holy Spirit that drew you with chords of love to receive His salvation message, the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You heard God’s voice say in your heart “I have chosen you, and ordained you, come unto Me”. Jesus says, "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him” (John 6:44). So then your Christian walk with Jesus Christ began with faith, and you received that faith from God through His Holy Spirit communicating with you.
Let me toss this out and see what you think: "unconditional faith is the action of placing a total and complete dependence in God who has the power to perform an activity to which the individual relinquishes the undertaking to perform on their own; and in so acting the individual acknowledges they have absolutely nothing in person or possessions to offer God and therefore put no conditions or expectations on what God is going to do and/or be for them, except that the result of what God does will be to the benefit of them and/or God’s kingdom now or in the future."
