God sacrificed His Son for the reconcilliation of sinful humanity to

himself.  So, yes He wants a personal relationship with man, not

some trite Sunday worship service for one hour and then nothing

throughout the rest of the week. It doesn't make people puppets,

but rather fully engaged followers of Christ.
