I saw an interview on Charlie Rose last week with Tom Friedman, author of "Hot Flat and Crowded" . Tom noted that our government has compromised all legislation into a sub par effort. He says our problem is no longer with leadership, it with the citizens. We need better citizens to select and demand performance from our government officials.

My problem with politicians, of both parties, is that they seem to have forgotten the founding principle of government of the people, by the people and for the people. And not a damn one of them has a clue what it's like to be poor in America. Basically, in my opinion, unless you happen to be filthy rich and can do something for them, they just don't give a shit about you.

If a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, then that makes me a burning truck filled with TNT hurtling through a rocket fuel depot.

My opinion is that our governmental representatives have been in office for far too long. They have lost touch with the people who put them there in the first place. I think it is time we demand that the Representatives and Senators to put in place a limited term just like they did for the President. It is the only way that we can have a more balanced and Constitutional representation.
