I have my doubts that life of ANY sort could exist on Mars.  The atmosphere is very thin, there is too little water, too little heat to allow organic chemistry to proceed, and the surface is so reactive that organic chemistry isn't very likely.

In my view, it really IS a waste of money.  What did we learn from the nine other missions we sent there? 

We learned that Mars is just plain lethal.

Obama's program is not working. That is why you aren't, either, or soon won't be.
