What should I do in this case regarding affordable auto insurance? I have been without auto insurance on my vehicle for the past year because of no money to afford it. So I let the vehicle set and rode the bus. But I can't keep riding the bus because it is so hard to get places on time etc. I barely have enough money to pay rent and utilities, food etc. I only make about $11.00 an hour what can I do? No prior accidents or claims, just at a stand still..

Are there any car share programs in your area? If so, would they work with your schedule?

If not, you might shop auto insurance policies with various companies and see how low of a price you can get. Additionally, some companies will break your payment down into increments; if you could get it low enough it is possible that would allow you to afford your monthly necessities plus still cover your insurance.

The only other thing I can think of is to suggest you could get a roommate, which would perhaps free up some of your cash so you could afford coverage.
