When I'm set as away and recieve instant messages, how can i read those that i missed when i return ?

You did not specify that type of instant messaging client you are using, but generally there are 2 behaviors:

  1. When you are away and someone sends you an instant message a window will be opened, the same as if you are talking with him when you are not away. You can look at that window after you return and see what messages you have received.

  2. In some instant messaging software (like Skype) you will get a notification that someone has messages you. When you click on the notification you will be able to see what they have sent you
