Cannot install AOL destop 9.7 on Windows 7

I have just upgraded to Windows 7 from Vista. Actually a total reinstall after a cascading failure of Vista. I am trying to install AOL destop 9.7 but keep getting an alert that I must restart my computer before installing. I have done this repeatedly but it's a circular problem leading to the same alert and restarts. Nothing I have tried works. Thank you.

Issue with Windows 7 64 bit and AOL A screenshot won't do justice, U won't be able to see the issue all you'll see is the login screen. Only thing I can suggest is to try Aol IM on a Windows 7 64 bit pc so you can replicate the issue. . . .
