Inground pool step repair

We have a 20+yr old inground swimming pool. It has a small crack in the step.Company that originally installed pool is no longer in business. Over ten years ago we had the same problem and the step manufacturer, a company by the name of "Rovel" supplied a repair kit that worked very well. It was a step cover that could be applied rather than install new steps and vinyl liner, a very costly project for a pool this old. Besides our liner is fairly new. Does anyone know if Rovel is still in business?

a product made by the leading manufacture HAYWARD and the product is called

"Schmear"  and it is ground up pellets of skimmers and such.

You dilute it with PVC cleaner and give it a few to soften before mixing and I prefer to use the liquid only that forms and pour it on the surface and the working time is minimal but several coats may be required and sanding if desired.  It is best if a diving board and step paint be used over the the entire surface afterwards to make it all look like new in the process.  Paint with a texture and usually consists of a catalyst with an "A" and "B" Part mixed together with a limited pot life and working time usually works best.  The kit to do so is around $80 and the shmear is a bit cheaper than that.  I am a professional pool installer and have been in business since 1987

The answer above is fine!
