I wouldn't call $100,000 income rich, just upper middle class. In Manhattan it might only be middle class. Let's put it this way: if you have a full time maid, or cook, or nanny, or gardener, you're rich. If you have four such services once a week, like a tutor and a fitness coach, you're rich. If you have a once a week lawn service or house cleaner, you might be upper middle class.
