drivers license is our de facto universal identification card.  There are many States in America do not thoroughly verify the applicants identities and many states do not require a valid Social Security number to get a license. Therefore, many will issue a state ID number for those without a Social Security number. This is the very reason why, it's very easy for the illegal immigrants to obtain drivers licenses. That's the reason why I believe we should tighten the us immigration laws because the driver license could allow the illegal aliens to continue on breaking the US laws.
