how to help a gifted student experiencing an emotional problem?

As a former Special Education Teacher and presently a School Counselor; I might suggest that a child with emotional issues and/or negative classroom behaviors speak to the counselor of your school. Often there are undiagnosed emotinal disorders that can be addressed by the Counselor.
