If you have to use it I would hyphenate as safe-proof. It doesn't really make sense, though, to be safe against a safe. Better words are child-proof, fire-proof, theft-proof.

On AOL Answers, the spell check wasn't working for a long time using Internet Explorer. It gave an error message after the first word. Spell check is working with Firefox.

Tuff is a kind of volcanic rock. Tough is pronounced the same, but its meaning is different. If you write tuff or tuf, we can guess that you don't mean tuff but instead mean tough. It's harder to guess whether you misspell it because you're stupid, or because you can save one letter in texting.
